Samanta Pisni (b. 1988) is an Argentine interdisciplinary artist based in Buenos Aires. Her practice explores the expressiveness of the human face and the intricacies of the natural world, working primarily with oil painting and sculptural ceramics to create evocative portraits, character busts, and vibrant organic compositions.
An active participant in observational art, Pisni frequently engages in plein air sessions and live event painting, bringing a dynamic sense of immediacy to her canvases. Her creative process is deeply informed by self-taught research and scientific illustration. Notably, a visit to the Iberostar coral laboratory in the Dominican Republic sparked an independent study of reef ecosystems, which she directly translated into her recent oil painting series. Through her distinct use of opaque ceramic clay and rich oil pigments, Pisni bridges classical observation with bold contemporary narratives.
A dedicated academic in the arts, Pisni serves as a professor at the Universidad de Palermo, Espacio Buenos Aires (EBA), and Primera Escuela Multimedial Da Vinci, where she has also been a jury member for institutional awards. She is the recipient of the 1st Prize at the Museo Argentino de la Informática y Enpics and the Premio Talento Acrilex.
